One Million Words

At the beginning of the year, I decided I was going to write 1,000,000-words. 2013 became the year of a million words. And I set about tapping away at daily, weekly and monthly goals.

As of 2:51pm yesterday afternoon. I met that goal!

The words that qualified were any of the things I typed into a story (short fiction, novella, novels...)This blog post would not have counted, emails, etc. I wanted one million words of fiction. And I got there.

I think it's still sinking in.

    1. Thanks, Kimberly! December is a super unproductive month, so I planned around that :)

  4. That's amazing! Way to go! I've heard that million word mark is the special place where your writing suddenly is you, and you've got it all figured out. I have no idea when I hit that point with all my early handwritten stuff, but I'll guarantee it's only the beginning. Then again, this is writing--we're always learning and growing right?

You deserve to celebrate. Here's some virtual cheese!

    1. I think I hit my first (actuall) million words in early 2011, but tracking it and getting to that point in less than 11 months is pretty awesome.

Thanks for the virtual cheese :D

    1. Thanks!

Technically it's more than that, though. I don't write on weekends (usually). So - and I know this because I keep spreadsheets - I only had 192 writing days. :D
