Progress Report 2020 #30

It’s Friday, time to look at what we’ve done for the last week. Words written (week/YTD): 26,476 / 415,256 664-words of admin + 4 projects. Half of this week’s w/c was put in by outlining a future series. Four books fully outlined, one is only half done 13 in the books. The rest was divided between editing input (necessitating 2 additional chapters drafted into this version) and some slow-write side projects. Monthly word counts passed this week: 2016 and 2013. Yesterday was the last day of writing for the month (with the exception of the content of this post, the total is pretty much set) and when I hit 2013’s count yesterday, that put me spitting distance to the rounder goal of my “best” benchmark. Ending the month just over 95,000-wds. 256 pages edited I spent six straight hours sitting at the table editing on saturday, and let me tell you… it was worth it to get it out of the way, but it did NOT feel worth it at the time. Editing can be exhausting normally. Marathon sessions…. ugh

It’s Friday, time to look at what we’ve done for the last week. Words written (week/YTD): 18,263 / 388,780 578-words of admin + 3 projects. As always, my word count is lower when I have fewer projects. Less one project, less ~4k. This week’s count wasn’t helped by the fact I had a tattoo appointment on Friday and tattoos and word counts don’t mix. It’s the wrong combo of brain chemicals. Also, the top of my thighs were basically wounds, and saniderm isn’t an excuse to drop a warm laptop on that for hours at a time. Luckily, my desk top was there to get me through ;). Monthly word counts passed this week: 2017 and the minimum requirement to keep on track for the year. 0 pages edited Getting through the fast draft (and yay, I finished it) was the priority this week, so the editing pile languished. There’s quite a bit of editing scheduled for next week though, so this number should be decently high next time around. What I’m reading Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron was absolutely fanta

It’s Friday, time to look at what we’ve done for the last week. Words written (week/YTD): 22,532 / 370,517 319-words of admin + 4 projects. This word count brought to you by week two of fast drafting a book. The fast track approach means lots of words, and lots of future edits. Which is sometimes (definitely in this book’s case) the better option. Monthly word counts passed this week: 2018, 2014, July Average. On top of those, I surpassed the total word count of 2015 on the twelfth! Which is always exciting. 33 pages edited Most of my time was spent getting words down, not necessarily getting them right this week. And I’ve got one more week of getting draft-to-paper before I can get my focus back on edits for a little while. Scheduling sometimes unbalances my workload. What I’m reading I added a lot of previously read things to my GoodReads list, including: The Devil of Downtown by Joanna Shupe and Seized by the Pack by Ava Lunaria. I’ve been REALLY remiss in keeping up with that this

It’s Friday, time to look at what we’ve done for the last week. Words written (week/YTD): 23,033 / 347,985 132-words of admin + 5 projects. My determination to kill July seems to be going well… If I can keep up this pace, I’ll be able to hit (if not pass) my highest June count in recorded history. I have two upcoming tattoo appointments, so those Fridays are going to be low on the w/c, unless Arizona shuts down again (which it probably should, but most likely won’t). I passed the 2019 and 2015 July word counts on Monday/Tuesday respectively and should pass up 2018 today, if I stay on track. The bulk of those words (the 11,058-words that make up the pink part of the draft) are from a straight-up SFR that has been largely rewrites… and will likely need to be rewritten again. 57 pages edited I am plugging along with the GDS rework revision. Much like SBD, this one needed a lot more work than I’d originally anticipated. But as with that one, this is going to be a MUCH better book. There’s

It’s Friday, time to look at what we’ve done for the last week. Words written (week/YTD): 7,745 / 324,952 997-words of admin + 4 projects. The last few days of June were alright, but I’m blowing into July like my life depends on these word counts, and that’s making me happy. I’ve written more in these first two days of July than I did the final four days of last month. Fingers crossed I can keep that up. 151 pages edited The low w/c from the final days of June can probably be attributed to this, only 8 pages of these are from July (yesterday, to be exact). It’s a give and take, so the more the editing takes, the more the writing has to give.
