Progress Report 2020 #27

It’s Friday, time to look at what we’ve done for the last week.

Words written (week/YTD): 23,033 / 347,985

132-words of admin + 5 projects.

My determination to kill July seems to be going well… If I can keep up this pace, I’ll be able to hit (if not pass) my highest June count in recorded history. I have two upcoming tattoo appointments, so those Fridays are going to be low on the w/c, unless Arizona shuts down again (which it probably should, but most likely won’t).

I passed the 2019 and 2015 July word counts on Monday/Tuesday respectively and should pass up 2018 today, if I stay on track.

The bulk of those words (the 11,058-words that make up the pink part of the draft) are from a straight-up SFR that has been largely rewrites… and will likely need to be rewritten again.

57 pages edited

I am plugging along with the GDS rework revision. Much like SBD, this one needed a lot more work than I’d originally anticipated. But as with that one, this is going to be a MUCH better book. There’s another final edit that I’m going to sneak in there for a shorter book so I can fling it away and be done with my part of it. But GDS is the top editing priority right now. Fingers crossed I’ll have it done by the end of the month.

What I’m reading

I just started Opium and Absinthe by Lydia Kang. It is delightful so far, and I can’t wait to see where the twists and turns finally take us.

Tomorrow, I’ll be picking up my copy of Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron (preordered and haven’t gotten the chance to get down to Changing Hands to pick it up). And I think Girls to the Front by Sara Marcus should be in as well.
